Since this is the first Weekly Blend, I thought it would be nice to explain what it is and where you can find it.
Every few weeks I’m going to create a Weekly Blend (which you can find in it’s own tab above) that will have little blips , or a few words, about varying things that are interesting for the week. These might include what’s coming up, a bit of culture from your favorite countries, or the best products you can find next time you’re traveling.
It’s time for your Weekly Blend!
Pakola

This is a generally lesser-known drink, that one of my best friends (and amazing International Expert, Foad) introduced me to. This is the drink of Pakistan, and mirroring the Pakistani flag, it is a bright green soda that has started many conversations for me. Some people swear it tastes like flowers, others baby powder, and a Japanese grandfather has one said it tastes like women’s lipstick…

Culottes
There are some great advantages to living in Paris, and one of those is being able to know what fashions are occurring all over the world. I’m sure most have you heard of Culottes, the wide legged pants that have just exploded in your day-to-day life. Everyone is wearing them, from the kawaii Asian Tourists, to the French, Spanish, and Italian bloggers and fashions lovers flocking here for Fahion week or just to ge a cute instaphoto. And even H&M and Zara on the Champs Elysee are selling them to the masses!
The best way I have seen people wear these is with light shirts and cute hats. (Yes, bring hats back, please!) But you’d be surprised, every so often you have an extremely modern take on the pants.
S’mores
It’s time to bring you something so stereotypically American that also has an added plus, you can make it anywhere! The s’more is a dessert or fun treat you often make while camping (s’more actually means some more), but that doesn’t mean you can’t have it anywhere else!
Get 3 things; chocolate, marshmallows, and graham crackers (if you can’t find graham crackers you can get biscuits with a top layer of chocolate and do the same).
Put the marshmallow on a stick or skewer and let it melt near a fire (Watch that it doesn’t burn!!!) Then, carefully, put a piece of chocolate on the graham cracker and squish the marshmallow between of these two crackers (chocolate side in please!).
If you don’t have a bonfire and want it to be easier, do my easy hack. Put the marshmallow on a cracker, put it on a plate, and put it in the microwave from 30 seconds to 1 minute. The marshmallow will expand and get gooey and when it does for a bit, take it out and put a graham cracker on top (don’t forget that chocolate between the marshmallow and cracker). If you do this for a party people beg you to teach them how to make this, but you might have to do a bit of cleanup.
I hope that you have a few new things to look into! Check back to see what’s new!
Is there a certain culture you really like or want to know more about? Let me know and some cultural thing might show up here soon! Enjoy the week!
